A Shining Star at Christenson Cleaning & Restoration

February 1, 2024

In the world of cleaning and restoration, success is not just about providing top-notch services; it's about the dedicated individuals who make it happen. At Christenson Cleaning & Restoration, we take pride in fostering a workplace where our team members are not only recognized but celebrated. This brings us to Maria, our exceptional Employee of the Year – a testament to our commitment to acknowledging the hard work and dedication that often goes unnoticed.

Acknowledging Excellence:

In 2022, we initiated the Employee of the Quarter program, a way to appreciate our behind-the-scenes heroes with a $100 bonus, a Christenson cup, and an optional lunch with their manager. Recognizing the need for more substantial acknowledgment, in 2023, we upped the stakes by increasing the bonus to $250 for each quarter and introducing the prestigious title of Employee of the Year, accompanied by a $1,000 bonus.

Owner Charlie Christenson emphasizes, "We're in the people business, and it's vital to acknowledge the hard work of our team for going above and beyond so they know they're appreciated!"

Maria: A Model Team Member:

Maria's journey with Christenson Cleaning & Restoration began several years ago in Hastings, Nebraska. She seamlessly transitioned into the cleaning rotation at St. Michaels School. Denise Faber, Lead Technician at St. Michaels School, highlights Maria's invaluable contributions.

Denise shares, "I know when I walk in the door in the morning, the school will be clean, doors locked, and ready to go for the day." Maria's reliability and commitment to quality work have made her an indispensable part of the team.

What sets Maria apart are the qualities that define her work ethic. "Maria is always courteous, on time, dependable, and always keeps her area tidy," says Denise. From a client perspective, Maria's flexibility and willingness to tackle any job presented to her make her truly deserving of this recognition.

Maria's Positive Impact:

Maria leads by example, consistently showing up on time, leaving on time, and handling additional tasks with a positive attitude. Her impact extends beyond her immediate responsibilities, creating a ripple effect that enhances the overall work environment.

"I like working at Christenson and St. Michaels because I always feel appreciated, respected, and everyone is always nice to me!" says Maria, summing up her experience.

As the winter cold sets in across Nebraska and Iowa, homeowners face a significant risk: frozen pipes. When temperatures plummet, the water in pipes can freeze, leading to expansion and potential bursts that flood homes and cause extensive damage. Here’s a guide on safeguarding your plumbing as winter approaches. Why Frozen Pipes Are a Problem When water freezes, it expands. In confined spaces like pipes, this expansion creates pressure, which can lead to cracks and bursts. Pipes in unheated spaces, such as basements, attics, and garages, are especially vulnerable, as are those along exterior walls. Once a pipe bursts, the resulting flood can cause thousands of dollars in damage—not to mention the hassle of cleanup and repair.

Why Prompt Restoration is Crucial Water damage is a homeowner's worst nightmare. It strikes suddenly and causes chaos. The consequences can be bad if not addressed promptly, whether from burst pipes, leaking roofs, or natural disasters. At Christenson Cleaning & Restoration, we recognize the critical importance of swift action in mitigating these risks and restoring peace of mind. Understanding Water Damage The aftermath of water damage can be disastrous, posing risks to both property and health. Delaying restoration efforts can worsen these dangers, leading to structural damage, mold growth, electrical hazards, health risks, and property damage. One of the most immediate dangers is structural damage. When water infiltrates building materials such as wood, drywall, and insulation, it compromises their integrity, leading to warping, rotting, and potential structural collapse. Over time, untreated water damage can weaken the foundation of a property, posing safety hazards and requiring extensive repairs. The Benefits of Prompt Restoration Acting quickly is essential when facing water damage: Prevent Further Damage: Prompt restoration minimizes the spread of moisture, preventing secondary issues like mold growth and structural deterioration. Protect Health and Safety: Swift action reduces health risks associated with mold, bacteria, and contaminants, safeguarding occupants' well-being. Preserve Property Value: Timely restoration helps preserve property value by salvaging materials and belongings and avoiding costly repairs. With 24/7 emergency response and expert technicians, Christenson Cleaning & Restoration offers reassurance and support during challenging times in Hastings, Grand Island, and surrounding communities in Nebraska. Our dedicated team is committed to restoring your property swiftly and efficiently, bringing back your peace of mind as quickly as possible.
